      François Sallans

      Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson

      François Sallans is Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, Pharmaceuticals, for Johnson & Johnson. He assumed this role in April 2012.

      In his current role, François manages end-to-end quality for the Pharmaceutical sector, covering Janssen Supply Chain Quality, Research & Development Quality and Marketing Companies Quality. François is a member of the Janssen Global Operating Committee and chairs the Pharmaceutical Quality Governance and the Pharmaceutical Quality Leadership Team (PQLT).

      François is Doctor of Pharmacy. He has a Specialization in Biopharmacy. He began his career as pharmacist in the Pharmaceutical Production unit of the French Army. He then worked for Boehringer-Ingelheim for four years in various manufacturing roles.

      In 1990, he joined Johnson & Johnson and advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in both Operations and Quality Control with Janssen, the pharmaceutical business unit of Johnson & Johnson, in France. In 1999, he was named Site Head of Quality Control in Val de Reuil, France.

      In 2002, he was named General Manager of the Janssen Pharmaceutica production facility in Beerse, Belgium, and started the second European Unit producing the Cypher Stents for Medical Devices & Diagnostics. In 2005, he became the General Manager of the production facility in Val de Reuil. In both cases, François led large, complex sites with cross-sector activities that provided customers high-quality product and that contributed to significant business growth.

      François was appointed Vice President Quality, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the Global Pharmaceuticals Supply Group (GPSG) in 2006 and expanded his scope to the Asia Pacific region in 2007. In 2009, he served as a core member on a team that defined the new Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain and Quality & Compliance strategies.

      Most recently, François served as Vice President, Global Quality, Janssen Supply Chain, responsible for end-to-end quality and compliance in the Pharmaceuticals Supply Chain, comprising all Internal Pharmaceutical Plants Quality, External Manufacturing and Supplier Quality, as well as Product Quality Management. In this role, François was a member of the Janssen Supply Chain Leadership Team, the Pharmaceuticals Quality Leadership Team and the enterprise-wide ‘Make Team’ for the Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain.
