The Immunosciences group is focused on advancing two core areas of research: adaptive immunity and innate immunity.
The adaptive immunity team is investigating mechanisms of antigen recognition and the subsequent initiation of T and B-cell responses in autoimmunity and cancer, to better understand disease initiation and progression and ultimately enable the development of early disease interventions.
The innate immunity team is advancing knowledge and understanding of inflammasome biology and additional mechanisms that drive chronic inflammatory processes underpinning early disease-initiating events. The group seeks to translate such research into novel therapies that disrupt the processes leading to chronic inflammation and intercept the associated diseases.
