As Vice President, Information Technology, Pharmaceuticals Asia Pacific, Rowena is a member of both the Pharma IT Senior Leadership Team and the Janssen Asia Pacific Leadership Team and represents the pharmaceuticals sector on the Asia Pacific IT Council.
Rowena is responsible for the technology direction of the Pharmaceuticals group within Asia Pacific, developing and implementing effective IT strategies to support the overall objectives of the pharmaceutical business in the region. She works closely with the management team in translating business priorities and challenges into technology solutions to better serve our patients and customers and continues to develop IT as a competitive advantage.
Before joining Janssen, Rowena served as CIO, Asia Pacific Region, and concurrently as CIO for the Global Agricultural Supply Chain Enterprise of Cargill, Inc., the largest privately-held corporation in the United States in terms of revenue. Rowena also was a member of the Global CIO leadership team. She joined Cargill, Inc., in 1994 as Asia Pacific Global Office Project Manager, and held various regional and global leadership roles over the years, including 18 months in a strategy & business development role. Rowena was instrumental in transforming IT in the region, building the regional IT strategy, leading successful deployments and successfully managing various mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. She built and developed the regional IT team and led the team through various IT changes and transformations. Before Cargill, Inc., Rowena had a successful career with IBM Singapore.
A native Singaporean, Rowena earned her Bachelor of Engineering Honors Degree from the National University of Singapore. She is a strong supporter of the value that business can offer to local communities and the environment and is an advocate of sustainable corporate practices and diversity.
