Healthy Baby Initiative

While childhood disease is often diagnosed a few years after the birth of a child, recent science indicates that some disease root causes may initiate early in life.1 Pregnancy and early childhood years provide a unique window for detecting disease risk and intervening to induce healthy development and potentially prevent and intercept non-communicable diseases of childhood and even adulthood, such as eczema, food allergy, celiac disease, and childhood obesity.1

The Healthy Baby Initiative is a strategic cross-sector project focused on prevention, interception and cure of early childhood conditions, and changing the trajectory of health for children to prevent chronic diseases in later childhood and adulthood.
