Our responsibility to the community in Ireland

Here at Johnson & Johnson, we put the needs and wellbeing of the people we serve first. Our commitment extends from supporting patients and healthcare professionals to making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work, both in Ireland and globally.

      Collaboration for a brighter future
Collaboration is at the heart of our community initiatives in Ireland. We work together with partners to inspire young people and open doors to opportunities in science and technology. Through STEM-focused programmes and partnerships, we aim to ignite passion and ambition in the next generation.
      Partnerships
We proudly partner with I WISH, a volunteer-led community that showcases the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) to teenage girls. Our collaboration includes a transition year programme that reaches over 14,000 girls annually across Ireland and internationally.

As part of this initiative, our employees open the doors of our manufacturing sites, offering students the chance to explore STEM in action. Through community outreach, keynote speakers, and panel discussions, we strive to inspire and empower young women to envision a future in STEM fields.
Johnson & Johnson is one of Junior Achievement Ireland’s founding partners. Since 1997, we have worked together to equip young people with the skills to find meaningful employment, build sustainable businesses, and thrive in their communities.

Our long-standing partnership has spanned over 25 years, with &J employee volunteers delivering programmes in schools across Ireland, supporting hundreds of students. These hands-on learning opportunities focus on key life skills and connect classroom lessons to the real world. We remain committed to helping young people realise their full potential through STEM education.
Launched in 2015, the WiSTEM2D initiative supports women in science, technology, engineering, math, manufacturing, and design. Through over 500 community outreach programmes, Johnson & Johnson Ireland has actively promoted STEM careers to women and girls of all ages.

Impact on Youth: Our support of I WISH and programmes like Irish Girl Guides and First® LEGO® League Discover has engaged 10,000 girls and women, showing them the exciting possibilities within STEM.

University Students: Through university pillar programmes, we inspire and support women in STEM to pursue their careers post-graduation. In 2023, 62 outstanding female students were awarded for excellence, and we reached 1,000+ students, partnering with over 20 organisations.

Professional Support: The Re-Ignite return-to-work programme helps women re-enter full-time careers in STEM after a break of two or more years, empowering them to regain confidence and contribute their talents to the workforce.
Our commitment to community extends to Jobstown Assisting Drug Dependency (JADD), a Tallaght-based organisation that helps families and individuals dealing with addiction. Through employee volunteering and long-standing partnerships, we work together to empower individuals who are striving for a drug-free future.

This partnership reflects our Credo values, focusing on improving the health and wellbeing of the communities where we live and work.
